Reflection
An interesting week.

My son went out to Utah with his stepdad to visit his aunt. He has a great time while he's out there, does some river swimming, and watches fireworks and such. I'm pretty sure he gets spoiled while he's out there.

I went out to Das Bunker on Friday and stayed fairly late. I had Saturday off, so we could go see Babyland and Combichrist at the Avalon.(Thank you very much, [info]uberthug  !). Heather and I rolled out with Jonni and Tina, and hit the afterparty at Club Suicide. We managed to run into a slew of old friends and clubbing buddies. It was a very nice reunion, and mix of old and new friendly faces.

Sunday was Severance. Both Heather and I were still a bit burned out from the night before, but we wanted to roll out and support our boy Ed (Gentleman Junkie), who had an impromptu keyboard gig with Of Despair. It was a good night for the Severance crew, and we hope they can pull it off again tomorrow night.

Spent all day resting on Monday, and got stuff together for Ground Control. Monday was a good night for us, but I'm still not quite able to get karaoke stared when I'd like to, promptly at 9pm. I must confess, last Monday I was feeling very tired, and laxidaisical about getting everything running in short order. That won't be repeated this coming Monday, I can assure you. In any event, it was a good night, and I made some money that got Heather and myself through a fast-paced week. Tuesday was dark for us, but Wednesday I packed up the gear early and ran off to Chinatown for the opening night of Straylight at Roberto's. Turned out to be a great night, as it was Roberto's birthday. Doomie made tacos and some really good quesadillas. Still managed to get home at a reasonable hour, given that we stayed until closing.

Thursday was made of rest. Friday we had a very nice, cozy July 4th BBQ. The Operative and DJ Reanimator popped in early, and antics involving fire and beer ensued. A wonderful collection of friends rolled in and out over the course of the evening, including a few pleasant surprises for Heather and I. We had a very nice time, and hope to do it again soon.

Tonight I head out to the Catch to prepare lights and video for this evening's club. Tomorrow is, I believe, another Severance night, and then Ground Control on Monday! I think my son comes back into town on Monday afternoon, so I may try to hang out with him Tuesday afternoon and see how his trip went.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
