Even better than that
Our new best friend at the garage down the street revealed some insanely fantastic news.

We went to pick up my car and our RV this morning. The RV will be staying in the shop just a little longer, while a fuel pumping issue gets worked out. You see, the fuel line is about 15 feet long. That's a looong way to send fuel. And since the fuel pump in place now is bidirectional, the mechanic suspects there may be a bit more backflow than necessary. He's working out the details now. He's also going to attack a bit of the wiring, which will be nice.

One bit of news came up in conversation that set off fireworks in my brain, but the good kind. I've been tossing around the idea of getting the RV converted to an alternative fuel source. Since we're paying so much for gasoline, we might as well pay the same or slightly less / more for something a little less eco-hostile. UberMechanic said they were on their way to being configured for bio-diesel installation, but that wasn't the most interesting part. The REAL kicker was talk of a protype fuel enhancer. I don't want to say exactly what, because it sounded very developmental from his side. But the Cool Factor on this thing is going to go through the roof.

If this works out, the mileage on the RV may very well exceed the mileage on either of our Saturns, by a respectable amount. And damn it, I absolutely love the idea of driving around with this particular prototype strapped to the cockpit....
